Metric

Same metric, every quarter. Shade runs from the lowest to the highest value in view.

Mortality, on one basis

Two of them publish survival and four publish mortality; the periods they cover run from a quarter to a whole cycle. Converted to mortality and annualised, they can finally be put on one axis and against the sea. The stage each one counts still differs, so the basis stays in the table. Where fish counts are published, the implied loss is shown alongside.

Feed, and the gap between the two ratios

Only Proximar publishes how much feed it used, and only Gigante what it paid — and neither appears in a quarterly report. Five of the six publish a feed conversion ratio, but the level is not comparable between them — accumulated FCR climbs as the fish grow, so a pool of 500 g fish will always flatter a farm harvesting at 3 kg. What is comparable is the distance between the biological ratio, which counts only the fish that lived, and the economic ratio, which counts all the feed against all the fish sold. That distance is the mortality and waste.

Where the growth went

Growth has to end up somewhere: sold as harvest, still swimming as standing biomass, or lost. The last bar is what the filings do not account for — shrink from fasting before slaughter, downgrades, a wrong gutted-weight yield, or a biomass estimate that was too high. Last four quarters (two halves for Atlantic Sapphire).

Capital per kg

Three ways of dividing the money by the fish: against what the farm actually grows, against the capacity it claims, and against the capacity it is still building towards. Hover a row for what is in each figure.
